During the early years of her practice she began to work with clients suffering from Obsessive/Compulsive Disorder. This started a huge learning curve, there being no experts and no literature on this disorder apart from that written by Psychiatrists using drugs. She found the combination of depth psychotherapy to sort out the origins of the problem and the Will work that Psychosynthesis has developed extremely effective with clients suffering from this disorder. Although she works with a very wide variety of clients, working with Obsessive/Compulsive Disorder has remained one of her areas of speciality. She established Psychosynthesis UK in 1994 in response to many requests for affordable Psychosynthesis training and ran training courses in the South East and the North West of England.
In 1998, being very aware of the need for meaningful rituals to enable people to mark important transitions on their life’s journey, she trained with the Inter-Faith Seminary UK and was ordained as an Inter-Faith Minister in 2000.
In 2004, feeling the need to move on from the confines of the therapy room, she created Evolution Intensives, a series of residential group workshops designed to prepare the personality for spiritual growth.
In 2006, she was diagnosed with Cancer of the large intestine and had an operation to remove a tumour. She refused chemotherapy because of its toxicity and so began another steep learning curve in natural treatments for cancer and cancer prevention that had begun back in the 1980s with visits to the Bristol Cancer Help Centre, where she still goes for retreats. The cancer helped her to take a long look at her life and begin to bring about both internal and external changes. She is now able to offer a Support service for other people with cancer.
Her greatest inspirations are the qualities of innocence and mystery. She is deeply moved by the beauty of the natural world and her current spiritual teachers are her grandsons, Jayden and Zach, aged 5 and 2.
She is also a writer and poet. |
